PROCUREMENT METHOD: OPEN COMPETITIVE BIDDING (INTERNATIONAL) (OCBI)

1. Cross-Boundary Energy Access Platform has received a grant from the African Development Bank (AfDB) to accelerate the adoption of electric productive use equipment across its mini-grid sites through its Productive Use Appliance Financing Programme (the PU Programme). Access has secured a US$1m capital grant from AfDB to support more than 900 customers in switching from diesel-powered equipment to electric equipment. For this contract, Access shall process the payments using the Special Account disbursement method, as defined in AfDB’s Disbursement Guidelines and procedures for Investment Project Financing.

2. Cross-Boundary Energy Access Platform now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of productive use equipment. The scope of the bids includes details such as equipment types, quantities, delivery locations, and timelines. Full specifications and requirements will be provided in the bidding document.

3. Bidding will be conducted through the Open Competitive Bidding (International) (OCBI) method as specified in AfDB’s latest Procurement Framework (October 2015), and is open to all eligible bidders as defined in the Procurement Framework.
