The International Rescue Committee
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s most severe humanitarian crises, helping people survive, recover, and rebuild their lives with dignity. IRC began operations in Nigeria in 2012, initially responding to severe flooding in Kogi State. As humanitarian needs escalated in the Northeast, the organization expanded its operations to Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe States. IRC later extended its presence to the Northwest, including Zamfara, Katsina, and most recently Sokoto and Plateau States.
