1. BACKGROUND
Lagos, Nigeria’s vibrant metropolis with a population exceeding 20 million is Africa’s largest metropolitan area and serves as Nigeria’s financial and economic epicenter. As Lagos continues to experience rapid urbanization and economic growth, the need for safe blood services becomes increasingly critical. A high demand for safe, accessible blood is essential in meeting the needs for emergency care, surgeries, maternal health, and chronic conditions such as sickle cell disease.
